The Day Before Thanksgiving

I have been prepping for this day all week. We take the day off from school and (surprise!) Paul even has the day off from work too!

We are baking pies, rolls, and a tart, and cooking the cranberries and the yams; I’ll make the fruit salad (for the most part) tonight too, maybe even cut the vegetables for the stuffing and for snacking…. we will see how much gets done.

We will have a guest coming by tonight since he is catching a flight out of Denver tomorrow, and we expect someone to drop by tomorrow evening for his 2nd dinner, so there is a bit of housekeeping to do too.  🙂

We are also packing for a short trip to Grandpa and Grandma’s house in Nebraska for a family Thanksgiving on Friday. Yeah! Getting to see family is a special bonus!

I am looking forward to our two Thanksgiving feasts this year, because the worst part about going somewhere else for Thanksgiving is not having any leftovers! If I am going to cook for two days, it is nice to be able to snack for a few days afterward.

Of course, there will be a game of Risk that I will win. Well, it could happen this year.
